Netflix just released their teaser trailer for Selena: The Series!
The short 15 seconds gives us just a tantalizing taste with a call out featuring one of her hits “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom”.
Netflix is reliving the miraculous life of Selena Quintanilla, the timeless and iconic Latina pop star. Regardless if you have or have not seen the 1997 rendition with Jennifer Lopez, this has the hopes of being a breath of fresh air. The streaming service hopes to give this version a more intimate and first hand look at the pop star.
While the casting and premiere dates have not been announced, the producers have and that gives more hope to the authenticity of the show. Netflix states that the executive producers will have family working closely along side. Those producers include, Jaime Davila, Rico Martinez, Suzette Quintanilla, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., and Simran A. Singh with Star and American Crime writer Moises Zamora.
The official description from Netflix of the two-part series reads, “A coming of age story following Selena as her dreams come true and all the heart-wrenching and life-changing choices she and her family have to make as they navigate success, family, and music.”
