KOREAN POP CULTURE FANS TAKE OVER DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
WITH OVER 100,000 IN ATTENDANCE AT KCON 2019 LA
KCON 2019 USA Wraps After Providing Unprecedented Access to K-Pop Stardom and Korean Pop Culture with Events in Los Angeles and New York
Los Angeles, CA (August 18, 2019) – KCON 2019 LA presented by Toyota, the largest celebration of Korean culture in the world, drew a record-breaking 103,000 fans this past weekend in Downtown Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center.
KCON 2019 USA closes out the summer with a combined total of 158,000 attendees for its two U.S. events – that includes Los Angeles and KCON 2019 NY, which took place over Fourth of July weekend at the Javits Center and Madison Square Garden.
This year for the first time, the event spanned for four days in LA filled with 243 program sessions, 245 special guests, and live musical entertainment every night.
The event also featured for the first time a special #KCONBeauty and #KCONFoodie on the EXPO FLOOR with stages that rivaled the size of the popular KCON STAGE that all had influencers and artists making appearances every day.
KCON provided their signature, unparalleled amount of access for fans to engage with artists through programs like Artist Engagements, Star Square, Star Live Talk, artist booth visits and more.
New this year was KCON ROOKIES, a special show that highlights up & coming rookies in the K-pop scene.
The entire weekend was jam-packed with panels and workshops related to K-Pop, K-Beauty, K-Food, and K-Lifestyle. Some highlights in the programming included “K-Beauty Look for Non-Asians,” “K-Pop Restaurant,” “How to Dress Like a K-pop Idol Stars,” “K-Pop’s LGBT Fandom,” “Behind the Scenes with the Producers of BTS,” and “Masculinity and Femininity in K-pop.”
This year’s concert featured top K-Pop artists including AB6IX, ATEEZ, IZ*ONE, LOONA, MOMOLAND, NU’EST, SF9, fromis_9, ITZY, MAMAMOO, N.Flying, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and VERIVERY.
