Who isn’t still buzzing about our trip to Wakanda during the Black Panther movie premiere?

I know that many of us have (rightfully so) become obsessed with the fictitious place and want to soak up any knowledge that they can. It’s obvious from certain symbols such as the lip plates, the tribal make-up, the headresses and fabrics that Wakanda is a hodgepodge of cultural aspects from many countries across Africa.

While on a Twitter binge, we came across this thread by Waris on the various African tribes and cultures that influence Wakanda:

We were thrilled that this thread also shouted out the women who did the research to make visual Wakanda come to life.
